Music: Bonne Finken || Des Moines Art Festival

I had the pleasure of shooting Bonne Finken live on the first night of the Des Moines Art Festival this year. I know it's been about three weeks since the festival but I wanted to share with you all how fun Bonne is live. She is a talented singer/songwriter and her passion for her music shows on stage. I heard one of the sweetest cover of Michael Jackson's Billie Jean, one of many staple covers of Bonnes' band, Bonne Finken and the Collective as well as a new tune from her upcoming album, which was preeeeeeetty sweet. I'm excited to hear the rest. Here are a few photos from that evening.

Sneak Peak: Amber and Scott Wedding

All week long we've been hearing about a 105 degree heat index for Amber and Scott's wedding. Fortunately, the ceremony was held inside. However, it stormed pretty bad the night before and it was the second wedding in a row where the road I took to the reception flooded over. This time, I had Felix Mathias shooting with me so we both had to take a detour from Pella to Norwalk.

Family: Elly and Joe Sheetz

I took photos of Joe and Elly over the weekend at Clark Tower in Winterset Iowa. It was a beautiful morning and the rain stayed away for once! Here are a couple of photos from that morning.

Events: Relay for Life Benefit

Relay for Life is a great driving force for the American Cancer Society. It is a 12-hour walk to raise cancer awareness and this year it will be held at Hoover High School starting at 6PM on July 16. They are a well known community of cancer survivors or those who are affected by it. So it was my pleasure to donate a few hours of my time to document their annual benefit held at Ciao's in West Glenn last Tuesday. This is my second year doing so and it was so much fun to see everyone dressed up in 80's theme. I was in retro heaven seeing the A-Team, President Reagan, Pee Wee Herman, Madonna and Bret Michaels just to name a few characters.

Wedding: Robin and Tony

Talk about adjusting to mother nature! The day I shot Robin and Tony's planned outdoor wedding, it rain the entire morning. The rain came with a vengance and I'm talking about fierce thunder, dark clouds and heavy rain. The outdoor wedding was moved to a church in Attica and after the ceremony, the main road to Attica flooded so guests and the likes had to take a detour back to Pella for the reception. Despite the rain and the last minute changes, things went alright for Robin and Tony!
