Des Moines Portrait Photographer: Brinley Sneak Peek, 9 Months

Brinley is very alert for only being nine months old. She knows exactly where the camera is and makes it a whole lot of fun to be around. You could tell that she is starting to create her own personality.

A Weekend of Babies: Des Moines Family Photographer

This weekend was full of baby photos. Well, almost four. First, there was Brinley's nine month session on Saturday and in the afternoon, I took Luke's three month photos. Today, it was Elina's Summer session . She is one year and seven months. Later in the morning I held a newborn photo session with her younger brother, Kaedyn.

Here is just a snap shot from each session. Be on the look out for each one's sneak peak in the next couple of days!

Life: Another KVQ in the Family

On August 4, I became an uncle to Kaedyn Van Quang. We share the same initials. He almost shared the same birthday with his dad but he arrived just a day later. Apparently though, he is a Liger since he was born in the Chinese Year of the Tiger and his Zodiac sign is Leo, the lion. How fun! Older sister Elina was just as excited to see him. She'd been saying baby all day long.

Here are some photos of Kaedyn and family.

Life: Hot Air Balloon Ride of Our Lives

On Sunday, August 1, Tosha and I woke up at an unusual hour. We set our alarms to get us out of bed at 4AM. That's because we were going on our first hot air balloon ride. We left home at 5 to head down to Indianola. The flight was a birthday gift for Tosha. For the longest time, it was her dream to fly in a hot air balloon. She had even wanted to be proposed to on a hot air balloon. Since I had already proposed to her, this was more of a way to fullfill a dream. So I set aside my fear of heights and flying just so that we could say that we did it!!! We flew on a hot air balloon. And what a perfect day it was!
Here are a few photos from our flight! To be honost, the photos will never do the experience justice, nor does it tell how ethereal and serene it was at 10,000 feet above see level. But hopefully it will give you an idea of how much fun we had!

Events: Ashley Johnson Baby Shower

There is a first for everything. In June I had consecutive wedding weekends where floods detoured the roads from the wedding ceremony to the reception site. This weekend, it was a baby shower. I was asked to photograph a baby shower for our friend Natalie's sister Ashley. Natalie hosted a variety of food and playful owl-themed decorations which shows off her event planning talent.

Here are a few photos from Saturday.
