Des Moines Wedding Photographer: Amy and Tom Engagement Session

Amy and Tom are having a destination wedding in May of 2013. It will be a whole lot of fun but nothing beats an autumn Iowa afternoon... well, maybe a tropical wedding. Nonetheless we had a good time walking around the Des Moines Pappajohn Sculpture Garden and surrounding areas. They even brought along Tiberius, their four legged friend. Tom is a jokester and Amy suits his personality very well. In the end, they busted out their school colors and well, as today's score shows, Iowa got their manhood handed to them on a platter.

Des Moines Wedding Photographer: Beth and Tyler Wedding

Beth and Tyler are good people. They have a great supporting family and group of friends. They are also very fun to photograph. If you see a familiar face or two, that's because I was also the photographer for Beth's sister's wedding earlier in the spring. Back in May I took Jenny and Timmy's wedding. Of all the weekends in September, this one was windy and brisk. Even with the chill in the air, we had a fun and fabulous time!

Des Moines Wedding Photographer: Allison and Cody Wedding

As a photographer, there are always firsts for everything. With Allison and Cody, this was a unique first. Their original wedding date was set for August 25. But with Cody training for service and unable to be here that day, we had to put the wedding on call. Allison found out Cody would be returning to Iowa before Labor Day weekend... And so, they had their wedding on Labor Day. I am more than honored to share their love story.

Des Moines Wedding Photographer: Brianna and Brian Wedding

If there was a wedding for the storybook, Brianna and Brian's wedding ceremony is a great story to tell. It started off sunny, almost a picture perfect August summer. It was warm Saturday morning and by the time Brianna and Brian saw each other for the first time, there was an overcast. The heat drew us inside of the Parish that Brian had gone to in his days of growing up. And just as we were in the middle of formal photos, the sky darkened like midnight and a rush of rain and powerful wind took out the electricity of the Church. The rest of the formals were shot in the dark as well as the ceremony. The storm passed by the time the ceremony started and there was even a little sliver of sunshine when we took the wedding party photos at Noelridge Park.

Des Moines Wedding Photographer: Jenny and Timmy Wedding Sneak Peek

Back in the middle of May, I had the opportunity to experience a traditional old country wedding with Jenny and Timmy at the historic Palmyra Methodist Episcopal Church with Felix Mathias. It was a very interesting experience as their families actually tied knots in this homestyle/hand made wedding. The windy day transpired into a beautiful evening as we drove down to Hickory Hill for their reception. And in the middle of the specialty dances, Timmy pulled a Don Juan and serenaded Jenny with Adam Sandler's Grow Old with You song.
