Des Moines Children Photographer: Maddux Six Month Session

Maddux never ceases to amaze Tosha and I with how much happiness he brings in our lives. The first three months was such a blissful high and it just seems like we're going higher and higher with each new adventure he's taken us on. He's learned to laugh at our silly behaviors, rolling over and pushing himself up to a sit, and eating freshly pureed avocados, sweet potatoes, butternut squash and baby food.
Parenthood has taken us beyond anything we have ever known and every new experience keeps getting better and better. Photographing his six months photos has taken a reverse role on myself and Tosha as we are now on the receiving end of cautiously and swiftly watching our adventurous boy! As tough as it was to see him almost eat rocks or falling back, the experience was well worth seeing him discover the world around him.

Des Moines Family Photographer: Geri, Brent, Kyle, Devin and Ian

Geri and Brent will be sending Kyle and Devin off to pursue life on their own in a matter of weeks. Devin is headed to Ames and Kyle will be going to Iowa City. Ian, well, he has a few more years to go before joining the ranks of adulthood but Geri wanted to get all her boys together one last time for a family session. We met at the Art Center on a hot Sunday afternoon. It was perfect summer weather as we walked around the Art Center and towards Greenwood Park.

Des Moines Family Photographer: Michelle, Greg and Alexis

I met Michelle, Greg and Alexis at the Art Garden in the end of June, just days before Alexis turned two. It was a very warm summer morning. There was an overcast but the sun made its way out a few times while we were there. It was definitely a work out chasing Alexis around but worth it was worth every minute spending time with the three of them. Last time we had a family session, she was just learning to crawl. Just look at her now!

Des Moines Children Photographer: Luke, Spring 2013

When I spend a day with Luke, adventures are create. Stories are told and memories are reflected on. It was an early morning waiting for the train. We talked a bit about the conductor inside the station and the lady with a funny hat and the cat sitting still on her lap. After we hopped onto the train, we laughed a bit inside the sun lit cab, waiting to go to work. We arrived to our destination and off to a busy day we went. Sometimes when you work hard, you have to take your shoes off to let your feet breathe. And when the day is almost over, you may have to take off your shirt to finish the job. It was a great day. Fun. And ours to tell for many years to come.

Des Moines Family Photographer: Ashley, Jess, Zakk, Jack and Kinley

Ashley and Jess brought a new addition to their home at the end of April. Little Miss Kinley makes their home complete. I visited Ashley, Jess, Zakk, Jack and Kinley two weeks ago for a Saturday morning session. We met up last September when I saw their family for a late summer session. It's just amazing to see how much has changed since then.
