Des Moines Wedding Photographer: Brianna and Brian Engagement Session

I met Brianna and Brian last Tuesday at the Des Moines Art Center for their engagement session. It could not have made for a more picture perfect day given that we had to reschedule from a prior Wednesday that was nothing but gloomy! It was one of the most adventurous sessions I've had in a while and I learned that my August bride-to-be is an adventurer herself as she hiked barefoot through the rough trails of the woods just for a couple of photos. It was great getting to know Brianna and Brian before their wedding and I can't wait to see them again until August.

 

Des Moines Wedding Photographer: Jenny and Timmy Engagement Session

On the first weekend of March, right before we received a heat waive, I had an engagement session with Jenny and Tim at the Des Moines Botanical Center. They brought along their son Trip and another one of my 2012 brides, Beth, Jenny's sister. We enjoyed our time inside as it was cold and windy outside. The sun was out so it naturally had an outdoor look. Jenny and Tim are a very fun couple and are super down to earth and I cannot wait until their May wedding.

Des Moines Wedding Photographer: Jill and Mike Wedding

It is a pretty awesome feeling to get married to someone who makes you feel very loved. It is even more awesome to get married in the middle of winter. How many people can really say that there was snow on the ground on the day they got married? Jill and Mike can. It had snowed a fairly decent amount the days leading up to their wedding on a January Sunday but the unusually mild winter had melted most of it away. Either way, we were able to get a few photos of their winter wedding.

Des Moines Wedding Photographer: Jenny and Damien Wedding

In mid-November of last year, I shot Jenny and Damien's wedding in a little town called Harvey. I had a great time shooting their wedding. Jenny was such a calm and carefree bride. I was a little uncertain about how the weather would be like as this was my first ever November wedding. It honestly was not a bad day to shoot a wedding. During the ceremony, a little sunshine burst through the overcast skies and rays of light peeped through the mosaic stained glass windows. The moment was as ethereal as any feeling could get.

Des Moines Wedding Photographer: Beth and Tyler Engagement Session

I came to know Beth while shooting Robin and Tony's wedding in 2010. She was actually Robin's personal attendant and I am glad I was able to make a good enough impression to warrant an interest to shoot her wedding set for September 2012. Last Fall, we started in Union Park in Des Moines and it was such a nice day for photography. We were fortunate to get some nice autumn weather this late in October. It was so much fun getting to know Beth and Tyler, exchanging mini stories of our connection to Robin and Tony as we later walked through Des Moines' East Village. Beth and Tyler are such a down to earth couple and I can not wait to see them again next September.
