Des Moines Family Photographer: Tammy, Dan, Ella and Isaac, Summer 2012

In the early part of September I drove down to Marion County Park for a morning family session with Tammy, Dan and their children Ella and Isaac. It was such a nice morning and I think we knew that summer is going by fast as we talked about Tammy's career as a teacher in the Knoxville education system. It was also nice getting to know Ella and Isaac as we wandered through the playful playground discovering glitter and other museumesque structures of the park.

Des Moines Family Photographer: Ashley, Jess, Zakk and Jack, Summer 2012

In early September, I met Ashley and Jess and their two boys Zakk and Jack at Greenwood Park for a family session. I've taken photos of all them as a family and each of the boys individually and it's always a fun time. This year was different because I believe this would have been the first time I didn't make a house visit. Last time Jack was too small to even sit himself up but he sure is mobile now. Zakk is always a good conversationalist and this time was no exception.

Des Moines Family Photographer: Sarah, Phet, Elina & Kaedyn, Summer 2012

It has been almost a year since I've seen my niece and nephew Elina and Kaedyn for a photo session. These two have just gotten more adorable together. I typically do not see my brother and sister Sarah for a family session until autumn but we decided to try a summer session at the Des Moines Art Center and Rose Garden where they were married 7 years ago. It was a beautiful evening and I always walk away happy to see the four of them.

Des Moines Wedding Photographer: Allison and Cody Wedding

As a photographer, there are always firsts for everything. With Allison and Cody, this was a unique first. Their original wedding date was set for August 25. But with Cody training for service and unable to be here that day, we had to put the wedding on call. Allison found out Cody would be returning to Iowa before Labor Day weekend... And so, they had their wedding on Labor Day. I am more than honored to share their love story.
