Des Moines Family Photographer: Sadie, 3 Months

Last month, I met up with Sadie and her mom & dad at the Demonstration Garden tucked behind the baseball compound of Walker Johnston Park in Urbandale. It was a perfect afternoon. The sun was shining, the weather was warm and the landscaping was completely full of flowers, tall grass and white picket fences with little bird houses. I love seeing the transformation a little babt goes through from their newborn photos to their 3 month photos. Today, Miss Sadie was colorfully dressed like she didn't want summer to end. Her eyes were gazing and amazed at her surroundings.

Des Moines Family Photographer: Maddux, 18 Months

Maddux has an adventurer's spirit. He loves to explore playgrounds and parks. Centenniel Park was the perfect location for his 18 month photo session. No pep talk, no planning, no cookie bribing could ever prepare us for such a great day for open field running around. It's become increasingly challenging to get him in a moment of stillness each time we take him for an evening of adventures. However, we couldn't have asked for better weather, as summer's warm and long days are slowly fading away. We loved taking in every second of it while it lasted.

Des Moines Family Photographer: Scout, One

I met Scout for her one year session at her home on a Saturday. She was getting ready for her birthday party so it couldn't have been a better day to take pictures. Her mom and dad joined us for some fun family photos and Scout was showing off how old she was by waving her "one" finger up with pride. It was such an enjoyment to see the smiles she was giving off.

I always love spending time with Elina & Kaedyn. They're great to capture in photos because they're always having fun. There's very little seriousness going around with these two. I met the sister/brother duo at the Des Moines Public Libraray and we walked around, soaking in the morning, looking for places to venture out on. And yes, while having fun!

Life: Picnic and Park

Today we surprised Maddux with a mini trip for a picnic and a play at the park. It was sunny for the most part but the wildly waving wind and the raging puffed up clouds kept it from being a hot one. After lunch, Maddux lassoed a worm and rode it to a fallen log and he dug into the sand for a while. We then climbed the staggering tree stumps to cool off at a fountain that overflowed water from a square rock. The fun was not done, for we then shuffled our way through the tall swish swashing grass! What an adventure, this day was!
