Des Moines Family Photographer: Luke, 18 Months

Last Sunday I took a trip to see Luke in Albia for his 18 month session. Driving down was worthwhile, as I always have fun with Luke. He's no stranger to my camera and is so interested to know what gears I have in my bag. But once we hit the Albia town square he went into boy mode. Exploring the tall buildings and alleyways and wondering, what is this or that! It was a little brisk but we had a great time making new discoveries.

Des Moines Family Photographer: Nate, Erin, Morgan and Nolan, Autumn 2011

I keep saying that the last of the nice days are done but on the last Tuesday in October, I was able to get good weather for Nate, Erin, Morgan and Nolan. Morgan and Nolan were one of my 2011 Spring mini sessions and their session was a lot of fun. Last Tuesday was no different. We started off in Valley Junction and ended up in Greenwood Park for some autumn evening fun. I definitely had a fantastic time capturing them as a family.

Des Moines Family Photographer: Brinley, Autumn 2011

She's almost two! Brinley's second birthday is tomorrow. Yep she's a Halloween baby but she's anything but frightening! Definitely as adorable as any two year old could be. We were fortunate enough to get such great colors with the late October weather. I had so much following her around as she trotted through the leaves exploring all the wonders of autumn.

Des Moines Wedding Photographer: Beth and Tyler Engagement Session

I came to know Beth while shooting Robin and Tony's wedding in 2010. She was actually Robin's personal attendant and I am glad I was able to make a good enough impression to warrant an interest to shoot her wedding set for September 2012. We started in Union Park in Des Moines and it was such a nice day for photography. We were fortunate to get some nice autumn weather this late in October. It was so much fun getting to know Beth and Tyler, exchanging mini stories of our connection to Robin and Tony as we later walked through Des Moines' East Village. Beth and Tyler are such a down to earth couple and I can not wait to see them again next September.

Life: One Week Left

Today between 4:30 and 5, Tosha and I decided to put on a couple of gray shirts and find some yellow trees to take pictures. It was quite possibly the most fun I've had taking our pictures as we talked about how this time next week, we will be on our way to being married. We just wanted to take this moment just to ourselves, away from the wedding abyss and enjoy each other's company because come next week, the real madness begins!!!
