I am finding it a little harder to motivate myself to get out in the cold to take photos. It's not as easy when you're slowed down by snow and sub zero temperature. However, nature seems to surprise me when least expected as you will see in the middle of the week. Hope to have more days like these. Enjoy this week in photos. Thanks for visiting and keeping up with the updates.

Sunday, January 15

I was waiting for Tosha to return something from the store so I stood to the side and noticed a recall on a toy. I am not a parent yet but I used to be a kid back when play time meant crashing bikes into ditches and trees, playing tag under steel bleachers and every once in a while daring each other to jump from the highest point of the jungle gym. Since when did kids started falling down and hurting themselves on their favorite toys become such a safety hazard? Big Brother is watching you!

Today Tosha joined me in search of indoor photos for a session I am having this Saturday with Luke. He is Tosha's sister's little man and with most of my sessions, I generally like to scope of location site and have a plan for the day. We went downtown and walked around in the locally famous skywalk. Yes, unconventional indeed but I am somewhat an unconventional photographer. Later in the morning we headed for The Manhatten Deli for some amazing deli sandwiches. They were so good!!!! I had cheesey soup and the Vito while Tosha enjoyed hamburger soup and the Truly Delicious.

Tuesday, January 17

Tonight, Tosha made barley and tilapia.

Wednesday, January 18

I had a little sweet tooth. Plus 3 for a $1? Can never beat that. The vending machines these days are selling for $0.85... I see profits ahead.

Thursday, January 19

Sometimes you just have to go outside. It was looking like an inactive day for photos so I decided to head out front to take a few snaps of the front flower bed. It was bitter cold but somehow I decided to go the the back yard and what did I find perched on the neighbor's tree? A hawk. It was a huge hawk and I think I may have seen it before. I've shot a hawk in our neighborhood in early 2011. Could this be the same one? Either way, it was a nice surprise but before I long, it was gone. Just like that. Oh... and this morning I ate half an avocado off its skin. Yeah that's right. Like a savage, I peeled it and ate it with no fork or spoon. In my culture they call being a rebel "Nuk Leng." But come on, there's nothing tough about eating an avocado no matter how you slice it.

Friday, January 20

Today I got Tosha flowers. Why? Well, as I had to explain several times, just because I love her and I thought she deserved some flowers in the middle of winter. Tonight, we traded Dairy Queen for a Ninja. We made our own Reece's Peanut Butter Cup blizzard.

Saturday, January 21

Today I had a session with Luke. It was his 21 month session and as always. We had a lot of fun. The photos here could almost be a preview of the challenges I am planning on giving myself. One of them will be shoot neon signs only and the other, create the alphabet through photographs... no manufactured or prefrabricated lettering. So as you can see I found an "M." I also caught someone on their break, texting, smoking and having a little coffee. It's nice to get away from the office every once in a while... even in 5 degree weather.
